This project was a surrealism landscape with images that are important to the creator. So I took and put a checkerboard and established it as my ground.I began to build up from there. Adding images that come into frame, images that are coming out of the ground, etc in order to create a more natural feel to the landscape, rather than copy and pasting images on my landscape background.I used different filters in order to create different looks, altering original images into a more surreal look. I liquified the eyes and made them looking runny, i pixelated the embryo in order to create a static look like it's being shocked into existence or something. |
This project was a landscape completely made of fruits and vegetables. So i used a reference background and thought of fruits and vegetables that resembled the original image. I used yams in order to create a path and turned them grey in order to resembled actual rocks. I used red and green lettuce in order to resemble multicolored bushes. This was actually the hardest past arranging little individual images of different colored lettuce in such a way they get smaller with distance, overlap due to closeness to the viewer, and because after a while they all start to look the same. I cut a half red onion in half and turned them grey as well to resemble mountains. I also liquified, by hand, the onion lines in order to create a more mountainous look. Also my clouds are actually cauliflower |
This project's task was to create an emoji based off a celebrity. Then describe their personality through physical characteristics. I chose the artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. I said he was curious, child-like, and introverted. To represent these qualities I did different traits. To represent him being curious I made him look up at the crown. For him being child-like I gave him blush and drew his facial and bodily features in that primal, raw, young child style he is known for. For him being introverted, I made his first and last expression the same to say despite what happened in his life he was always in his own world. As for how I went on designing it, I utilized both computer shapes and hand drawing. Shapes were used for his head, teeth, neck, and upper torso. Everything else was drawn by hand using a tablet. The image below is the emoji I did of myself.
This project is a design for the "Google" logo. Students are given a prompt and must finish the prompt with a basic thesis and do a design based and that thesis. My theme was "When I grow up I hope... the world will be more compassionate." To depict this I decorated my first "G" as a healthy forest. My theme not only extends to being more compassionate towards other humans but to the planet and the environment as well. I did my first "O" as a globe with a peace sign on it to symbolize literal "Peace on Earth". My second "O" was decorated with both symbols for man and female with an equal sign to represent compassion towards both genders as well as equality. My second "g" has a flag of love. The hope that nationality no longer separates us both we are all united through compassion. My "l" is a balance scale to represent fairness and equality. My "e" is a cross out of hate to say "no hate".
